Thursday's Rehearsal

Great rehearsal last night!
Recap of what to work on:

Movement
-Practice coupe and passe - focus on not sickling!
-Chaines turns - remember the breakdown (prep on count 4 and use your spot)

Flags
-Drop spins - practice with music so that you can get the continuous drop spins in time grabbing on every beat (thumbs down, thumbs up, thumbs down, thumbs up... etc.)
-Carves - Make sure you are hitting the correct check points and making BIG circles with both of your hands (think a witch stirring her pot with BOTH hands)
-Continue working on your singles

Weapons
- Left spins!
- Right handed tosses (blades and barrels)
-Check that your hands are in the correct spots for releasing and catching
-Mid-two for rifle and catch middle of the bolt
-Thumb on bottom tape for sabres, catch top third
-Practice stopping the equipment hard so that you can learn to use your muscles (no weak catches)
- Left handed tosses
- Stop position on count 5 (think ACROSS the body, not lofty)
- Really think about release point and PUSHING with the right hand! Your toss will never go around correctly unless you put the energy in your right hand.

Only three rehearsals left until we really start learning the show. So, make sure you are practicing with your practice partner!!!!

Please remember that you must email me if you are missing a rehearsal. I have to know who will and will not be at rehearsal so I can plan effectively for the time we have!
